Wild Veggie Debuts at Orlando Whole Foods Store
FRANKFORT, MI (June 25, 2008) —Wild Veggie, the new all-natural vegetable product that tastes fresh picked, is celebrating its U.S. consumer debut. Four varieties of chilled soups will be offered in the prepared foods section of the Whole Foods Market® Bay Hill store, which opens June 25 in Orlando, Florida.
“Wild Veggie is a healthier alternative to traditional soups. It is an all-natural product that has earned the attention of the food industry for its fresh-picked flavor, nutritious appeal and innovative serving options,” explained Chris Walrad, National Sales and Marketing Manager. “Wild Veggie is also a perfect fit for Whole Foods, whose buyers search the globe for healthful products that meet strict quality standards.”
Available in broccoli, red bell pepper, cauliflower and edamame (soybean), each 7 ounce serving of Wild Veggie provides the nutritional equivalent of up to 2.5 servings of vegetables, and can be enjoyed hot or cold as a soup or beverage. It is easy to prepare in a variety of delicious and nutritious recipes. It will be featured as a chilled soup during the initial launch.
“Whole Foods customers will enjoy the ease of Wild Veggie’s self-serve dispensers as well as its refreshing vegetable taste,” said Walrad. “Consumers will also appreciate Wild Veggie’s all-natural quality. We start with fresh in-season vegetables that are minimally processed to ensure rich vegetable taste and nutrition. Wild Veggie contains no preservatives, artificial ingredients, color or trans fat.”
Wild Veggie’s healthful benefits have also garnered attention in the food industry. It was recently featured at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago, and will be available for tasting at the Western Foodservice and Hospitality Expo in Los Angeles in August.
The Wild Veggie chilled soups will be introduced during the grand opening of the Phillips Crossing Whole Foods Market, located in Bay Hill at 8300 Turkey Lake Road, Orlando, FL 32819.
